ISO 18404 Launched
The new International Standard, ISO 18404, launched ahead of schedule on December 1st, 2015.
The ISO 18404 is an auditable standard applicable to the PEEC programs.
The new standard presents an opportunity for individuals and organisations alike to achieve an internationally recognised certification within their chosen field as a Lean Six Sigma Green, Black or Master Black Belt.
Prior to the release of ISO 18404, there were no internationally recognised certifications associated with the accreditations offered by PEEC.
The new certification is in line with the International Standards for Lean Six Sigma as described in the ISO 13053-1 standard (Quantitative Methods in Process Improvement, Six Sigma — Part 1: DMAIC Methodology) and the ISO 13053-2 standard (Quantitative Methods in Process Improvement, Six Sigma — Part 2: Tools and Techniques).
There are plans for a pilot accreditation program with PEEC in 2016 to determine what evidence will be required and what verification process will be followed to certify the aforementioned competencies.
Unlike previous standards, practitioners in their chosen field will undergo regular, evidence-based checks from either their manager or a certification body.
